Kenneth had always been an aesthete growing up. He was drawn to the arts, and displayed a keen artistic disposition. His foray into music officially commenced in 1988, after experiencing Candi Staton and Alvin Slaughter sing live at Church of God Mission ( Faith Center ). He knew from that moment on he wanted to be a singer, and never stopped singing. His first job was being a model with “ Photogenic Palace ”, Benin City , Nigeria in 1992 at the age of 21. At about the same time, he got in college to major in Communication Arts. As a model, he appeared in two music videos, but was quickly disillusioned by the fledgling modeling industry then.
He also discovered at that time that he had a passion for prayer and intercession. It wasnt long before he was made the Prayer Director for Youth Vessels of Christ, a youth ministry he attended in Benin City.
In 1994, he ventured out into starting his first entrepreneurial venture named “Agape Xpress”, a photography and graphic designing business. That same year, he officially became a member of Church of God Mission ( Faith Center ), which was pastored by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, who he affectionately called Papa, for his immense spiritual guidance and mentoring. He served as a soloist in the renowned Christian Redeemed Voices, a choir with about 400 voices, and was a member of the worship team, and the Idahosa World Outreach (IWO) Singers.
He relocated back to America in 1996, and eventually became a Make Up artist, working with Estee Lauder and Lancome. He also got published in “Tracing Shadows –The National Library of Poetry”, and won The Editors Choice Award in the poetry competition. He also became the Music Minister of the Washington DC branch of Church of God Mission, touring with Pastor Phil Huff.
He transitioned to Dominion Church, where he worshiped, becoming a key member of the Intercessory Prayer Team, and Worship Leader.
His world came crashing down however when he began living in compromise of his faith, and began experimenting with drug use. It was only a matter of time before it took over his life, and he lost everything. Living at the very brink, he attempted suicide, ending up in a coma for a week. According to his testimony, “I literally had an epiphany of God while at the nexus of life and death. I accepted the chance at life again, and knew my identity was inherently infused in my faith”.
He spent most of 2007 recuperating, involved in professional and spiritual therapy, rehabilitating at Central Union Mission, and having a passion to share his story and experience, and the saving grace of Christ Jesus in his life. In 2008, he crafted a new career in Web Designing, Networking and Public Relations. His passion for his faith led him to become a Spiritual Motivator/ Encourager. He is currently working on several materials for publishing, and moderates an online men's ministry, Iron Sharpens Iron (ISI), and works as a Business Developer for HeadStart to Life.
The storyline of his life is, it is never too late. God is a God of second (third, forth and fifth) chances.
